Great Zimbabwe University will be offering block Release programmes in the School of Education and Culture in the following areas for the convenience of its stakeholders. Suitably qualified candidates are hereby invited to apply for the programme due to start in April 2018 (during school holidays).

NOTES:
- Block Release Programmes will run from 4 April to 5 May 2018.
- Block Release Programmes in the School of Education will be available in Masvingo, Chitungwiza, Bulawayo and Gokwe.
- Applicants must clearly indicate on the Application Form whether they are applying for the Chitungwiza, Bulawayo, Gokwe or the Masvingo Cohort.
- Registration will take place from the 4-5th of April 2018 at Main Campus for Masvingo Classes. Registration dates for Chitungwiza Bulawayo and Gokwe Classes will be notified to successful applicants.
- The closing date for submission of completed application forms is Friday 30 March 2018.

a) A relevant first degree from this University or any other recognized University with an overall degree class of 2.2 or better. In addition, the candidate must possess Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma in Education from a recognized University. b) At least one (1) year experience in approved educational work |
Post-Graduate Diploma in Higher and Tertiary Education (1 year Block Release) | a) At least five (5) ‘O’ Level passes at Grade C or better or the equivalent

Graduate Diploma in Education (GRAD D.E) (11/2 years Block Release)

a) A first degree with teaching subjects
b) At least one (1) year experience in educational work.

Diploma in Adult and Continuing Education (2 Years Block Release)

a) At least five (5) “O” level passes including English Language with a grade C or better. A pass at “A” level shall be an added advantage.
b)Hold qualifications accepted by the University as equivalent to the foregoing; c) Have at least one (1) year working experience in a relevant area of specialization; current engagement in the practice of adult or tertiary education will be an added advantage. |
Bachelor of Education Honours Degree Primary ( In-Service) (21/2 Years Block Release)

Normal Entry
a) At least five (5) ‘O’ level passes including English Language at Grade C or better. b) A Diploma from a recognized institute of higher learning in the subject area to be studied. c) At least two (2) years teaching experience at secondary school level and should be able to provide proof of such experience in the form of a confirmation letter from the School Head or District Education Officer NOTE: Candidates who successfully complete the Bridging Programme will be eligible to study for the Bachelor of Education Honours Degree (Secondary In-service) programme whose duration is two and a half years (Block Release) |
Bachelor of Education Honours Degree in Special Needs Education (In-Service) (21/2 Years Block Release)

a) At least five (5) ‘O’ level passes at Grade C or better including English Language or the equivalent.
b) Attained a satisfactory standard of performance on any entrance test which the University may administer for the purpose of entry. c) A teaching Certificate or Diploma at primary or secondary level or a qualification in Special Needs Education/Disability Studies recognized by the University. .

Bachelor of Education Honours Degree in Early Childhood Development (In-Service) (21/2 Years Block Release)
|
a) At least five (5) ‘O’ level passes at Grade C or better including English Language or the equivalent.
b) A teaching Certificate or Diploma in education specialising in Infant Education or Early Childhood Development recognized by the University.

Bachelor of Adult and Continuing Education Honours Degree (3 Years Block Release)

a) At least five (5) “O” level passes including English Language with a grade C or better.
b) A Diploma in Adult and Continuing Education or its equivalent. c) Have at least one (1) year working experience in a relevant area of specialization; current engagement in the practice of adult or tertiary education will be an added advantage.

HOW TO APPLY: –
Complete an official application form, which can be obtained from the Admissions Office, Great Zimbabwe University upon payment of a non-refundable application fee of $20. 00 for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes. No application is valid unless the appropriate application fee has been paid. Application forms can be downloaded from the University website: www.gzu.ac.zw. The downloaded application forms must be accompanied by a valid receipt or bank deposit slip marked (Application Fee). Application fees can be deposited into any of the following University Accounts:
