The Nehanda Centre for Gender and Cultural studies is also located in the Central Business District of Masvingo along Josiah Tongogara Road. It is an arm of the Julius Nyerere School of social sciences. The School derives its inspiration from Mbuya Nehanda the first Zimbabwean woman to join the liberation struggle. The Centre is poised on fostering the establishment of gender just societies through the teaching and learning of development, women, Unhu/Ubuntu, Innovation, creativity, inclusiveness and empowerment issues.
